Stacks of personal documents and food donations testified to the continued success of the community Shred-a-Thon held this past Saturday at the Cottonwood Mall. Hosted by Emterra Environmental and co-sponsored by the City of Chilliwack, Cottonwood Mall and Shred-It, residents brought in personal documents and paperwork to have them shredded and recycled free of charge.

Emterra Environmental, a Canadian leader in recycling resources management and waste diversion, has been awarded its second consecutive contract with British Columbia’s Capital Regional District (CRD) to provide recycling collection services to 124,000 homes in 13 municipalities including Colwood, Equismalt, Highlands, Langford, Metchosin, Oak Bay, Saanich, Central Saanich, North Saanich, Sidney, Sooke, Victoria and View Royal, as well as the Juan de Fuca electoral area. Read more...
